Aurora Aksnes is an Norwegian Singer and Songwriter. Her birthplace was in Stavanger on June 15, 1996. Her professional name is Aurora. Her name could be spelled by the name AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released by the label Decca Records in May 2015 getting great reviews from music bloggers and the media. She has recorded several high-profile song covers, including Half the World Away (by the group Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert and Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) that have received a lot of praise. She gained some further recognition thanks to a Facebook post from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed the song Runaway. Make it a special day for her. Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory is that of locating an instrument in her attic and becoming fascinated by the sounds it would produce. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes, as well as Jan Oystein Aksnes urged Aurora Aksnes on to try music as an activity or career. To achieve this, she began writing songs that were her own creations. In addition to Bjork, she cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. Her mother urged her to play her music on stage, not so that she could achieve fame, but rather to help others realize how important they are and what they could do to improve the world. She started playing piano when she was only six and started writing songs by the time she was nine. It wasn't until her 14th birthday when she first told her parents. She never had a desire to be Aurora. She claims she loves writing songs. Music is her preferred method to express her feelings about anything.
